Returning Home Safely
The health and safety of the public is always of primary concern. During the recovery period a number of risks are present. Residents are encouraged to take precautions when in flood affected areas for their safety including:
- Treating any scratches and cuts immediately and ensuring tetanus injections are up to date.
- Using insect repellent, sunscreen and wearing broad-rimmed hats and loose long sleeve shirts for insect and sun protection. More information relating to public health during and after floods can be found on the NSW Health flood website
- Council and NSW Health have been monitoring public health in flood affected areas and will continue to do so, if residents have any concerns they can contact Council on 1300 292 442
