16 Days of Activism
One in three women and girls experience violence in their lifetime. It happens in every country and every society, with Wagga statistics sitting 29.4% higher than the NSW State average.
It happens at home, in schools, on the streets, at work and on the internet. Too often, it is normalized and goes unspoken, but this 16 days of activism it will not go unnoticed, it will not be normalised, it will not go unspoken.
To signify the start of the 16 days of activism, and in partnership with the Wagga Women’s Health Centre, we invite you, both as community members and representatives of organisations with a shared vision, to come and tie a ribbon for those women who have passed away in Australia as a result of violence.
Monday, 25 November 2019 at 10am at the Wagga Women’s Health Centre.
22 Peter Street, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
The 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.
