Education & Tours
The Marrambidya Wetland provides an ideal location for school groups from Primary to Secondary students with opportunities to connect the classroom with the local environment and community. This valuable site will facilitate positive activities that will encourage students to learn the importance of wetland in a riverine ecosystem, providing nursery habitats for our local fauna and the altered water regimes of the Murrumbidgee River ecosystems.
Students can undertake various activities including water bug investigations to determine water quality (seasonally available), nest box fauna surveys, identifying birds from the bird hides, viewing the site from the elevated platform and reflet in the Healing Place.
Areas of study include:
- Bush Ecosystem Investigation
- Mini Beast Study
- Soil Studies
- Water Quality Assessment
- Wiradjuri Culture Study
