Adam Geczy, Inside my mothers brain, 2011, etching and pigment print, graphite (installation view)
Two artists from different backgroundsand generations come together to explore the extremities of visual and emotional experience, lived and remembered. Through a combination of printmedia and video, the work deals with the intensities of family love and all its contridictory values: sympathy and antagonism, empathy and retreat. This work is what might be called and conceptual expressionism: this means that it is very reflective about its own sponteneity, and inquisitive about its effictiveness and its entitlments.
