Changed traffic conditions at intersection of Fernleigh Road and Glenfield Road
As part of the Active Travel Plan project, surveying will be carried out between 9.30am and 12.30 pm tomorrow on the roundabout at Fernleigh Road and Glenfield Road.
During the works some lanes will be closed and a reduced speed limit of 40 km per hour will be in place. The road will be under traffic control.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and to avoid the intersection if possible.
Intersections to be upgraded
Scheduled work dates - 19 July – 30 July 2021 (works to be completed in two stages)

Type of works - Traffic island upgrade + footpath furniture works
Impact to traffic - Lane closures
Traffic island upgrade works - Stage 1
- South bound turn right lane of Glenfield Road closed. Traffic will still be able to use the left-hand lane as normal as well as to turn right at reduced speed.
- North bound lane Glenfield Road will have 2m work zone extended into lane traffic will still flow as normal at reduced speed.
- East bound straight and turn right lane of Fernleigh Road closed. Traffic will still be able to use the left-hand lane as normal as well as to turn right and continue straight at reduced speed.
- West bound lane Fernleigh Road will have 2m work zone extended into lane traffic will still flow at reduced speed.
- All other lanes will operate as normal.
Footpath furniture works - Stage 2
- South bound turn left / go straight lane of Glenfield Road closed. Traffic will still be able to use the right-hand lane as normal as well as to turn left and go straight at reduced speed.
- North bound lane Glenfield Road will have 2m work zone extended into lane traffic will still flow as normal at reduced speed.
- East bound turn left lane of Fernleigh Road closed. Traffic will still be able to use the right-hand lane as normal as well as to turn left at reduced speed.
- West bound lane Fernleigh Road will have 2m work zone extended into lane traffic will still flow at reduced speed.
- All other lanes will operate as normal.

Type of work - Traffic island upgrade works
Impact to traffic - Lane closure and detours
- All lanes on Forsyth Street will be closed at the roundabout with Murray Street.
- Murray Street left turn lane north bound will be closed. Right hand lane will still flow as normal at reduced speed.
- Western end of Forsyth Street will be open to local traffic only via Docker Street.
- All other traffic will detour via Morgan Street from Docker Street alternately Docker Street to Gurwood Street.
