A new weighbridge toward the entrance of the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC) has been officially opened by the Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga today (14 February).

The $1.9 million facility, funded by Wagga Wagga City Council, is part of a project to upgrade and redevelop the GWMC to meet the needs of our growing city.

The new weighbridge is located close to entrance off Ashford Road and provides a straight-on approach to the weighing platform controlled by traffic lights and boom gates. The longer platform allows a single weighing of B Double trucks, which is more efficient and accurate.

The weighing process for the new weighbridge remains unchanged, with the customer identifying the types of waste to the operator who verifies this by reviewing the CCTV imagery of the vehicle.

The new location is the first step in a longer-term redevelopment that will provide greater efficiency, safer operations and more sustainable waste management for the city and region.
