Farrer Road Upgrade

The upgraded road will have the capability to service increased traffic flow resulting from the development of residential subdivisions, and growth of nearby educational institutions including Charles Sturt University and The Riverina Anglican College.

Additional turning lanes will be constructed outside The Riverina Anglican College and at Coolamon Road to improve traffic flow. The project includes tree removals, widening the road corridor and the relocation of a 1.6km high pressure gas main.

As with all major infrastructure projects, there will be some inconvenience to road users and pedestrians while the works are undertaken. This will include changed traffic conditions, traffic disruption, noise, dust and heavy vehicle movements.

To ensure the safety of all, motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are urged to follow the directions of traffic management staff and/or directional signage throughout the works.

This project is funded by Wagga Wagga City Council.

Finalising Works - July 2020 → August 2020

The final seal and minor site works are being completed. The road is expected to reopen 5 August 2020, weather permitting.
