Progress continues to construct the new Duke of Kent community building.
The internal fit-out has reached an advanced stage, with almost all components now in place.
Recent activities include:
- tiling the kitchen, kitchenettes, and toilets
- installing an internet connection
- connecting CCTV
- installing a soundproof wall divider.
On the exterior front, the following work has been recently completed:
- installing footpaths
- establishing stormwater and sewer systems.
Remaining tasks include constructing the carpark and landscaping.
Construction is expected to be completed in October 2023, weather permitting.
Council is taking steps to arrange routine cleaning, gardening, and maintenance services.
The new building is being integrated into the Council's booking system for community groups to access when it is complete.
