Dunns Road Rehabilitation Works to resume.

On January 30 Wagga Wagga City Council agreed to enter into a contract for the Olympic Highway & Holbrook Road intersections design and construction project with local contractor Excell Grey Bruni.

The project includes the upgrade of the Olympic Highway/ Dunns Road intersection, Dunns Road pavement reconstruction and the Holbrook Road/ Dunns Road intersection upgrade works. The Dunns Road Upgrade project is funded by the Australian Government ($5.8 million) and the Wagga Wagga City Council ($2.5 million).

Currently the contractor is working on the design and project documentation works for the project and is expecting to mobilise plant and resources by the end of March 2023, weather permitting.

During the first few weeks of mobilisation, the contractor will be carrying out preliminary survey works and  approved vegetation removal. The next phase of works is expected to start by mid-April 2023, with the timing dependent on receipt of a Works Access Deed from Transport for NSW.

Progressive details of future works will be shared online as they are received from the contractor.

It is anticipated that the finished road works will be wider and have a better surface and drainage. The intersection upgrades will improve access from the Olympic Highway for all users and improve safety at the Holbrook Road intersection.

Details of the works will be shared with stakeholders directly, and updates will be added here.
