Works to begin at Bill Jacobs Athletic Centre June 2023
The Bill Jacobs Athletics Centre track is nearing its end of useful life. Wagga Wagga City Council plans to upgrade the track to a multi-sport community facility, creating a a high performance centre capable of providing requirements for regional, state and national sporting bodies.
The provision of premier facilities capable of hosting elite level sporting competitions is a regular request from local athletics clubs. The refurbishment will allow Wagga Wagga to attract and cater for large scale sporting events which will boost visitor numbers, increase time spent in the region and benefit the local economy.
Upgrade works are due to commence late June 2023.
