Council is committed to ensuring a positive approach to ageing across all services, opportunities and programming. Our Community Development Team can provide general information on positive ageing initiatives locally and deliver a range of activities throughout the year including Seniors Festival.
On this page you will find information on the community centres, quick links and support services available for older adults and seniors in the Wagga Wagga community. Please note that Wagga Wagga City Council does not provide aged care services.
Community Centres aim at providing a variety of activities to foster wellbeing and lifelong learning for the members of our community. The centres have a fully accessible hall and kitchen facilities available for community use to run activities between 7am and 11pm. Bookings can be made by contacting Council's booking officer on 1300 292 442, or via email council@wagga.nsw.gov.au
Wagga Wagga Seniors Community Centre
Centrally located, purpose build facility, in Tarcutta Street is primarily utilised by the Wagga Wagga Senior Citizens Club and a wide variety of other senior groups, including probus groups, dancing groups and many more. The activities at the centre are run by seniors for seniors and respond to diverse needs and interests of the older members of our community.

Seniors Community Centre is a community hub for older adults to come together and join in diverse range of activities including indoor bowls, cards, art and craft, computers, line dancing, sing along, luncheons, general meetings and many other special activities. Please note that membership is required to participate in those programs.

My Aged Care aims to make it easier for older people, their families, and carers to find information on ageing and aged care in Australia. They provide online information and trained call centre staff to help you get an older person’s needs assessed and to find and access services.
Visit the My Aged Care website to find information about how to access Australian Government–funded aged care services. You can apply for an assessment online and search for local aged care providers that meet your needs. You can also call Monday to Friday, 8 am to 8 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.

You have the power!
Wagga Wagga City Council provides designated electric scooter and wheelchair recharge outlets to enable community members to recharge their mobility devices if required.
Council's facilities with recharge points are easily identified through RECHARGE Point logos displaying on the windows and above or near the designated power points.
There are currently three Council venues:

National Public Toilet Map
As part of the National Continence Program, the Toilet Map provides information on over 19,000 publicly available toilets across Australia, including accessibility, opening hours and facilities, such as showers & baby change.
Master Locksmith Access Key
The Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) is an innovative and universal lock system that allows 24/7 access to the public toilet facilities for eligible community members with access issues. MLAK symbol is displayed on the toilet facilities equipped with this system for easy identification.

Seniors Festival
Seniors Festival returns with more than 30 fun, diverse and engaging activities being held in March annually.
The festival celebrates ageing positively and recognises the important role and contributions old(er) adults make to our community. This year’s program of low cost and free events provides a great opportunity to get out and about, pick up new skills, learn what activities and services are available, join local clubs and groups in the community, meet others, and most importantly, have fun.
