Bill Jacob
Bill Jacob played a significant role in founding the Kooringal Athletics Club in 1978, and was President when the Club was renamed the Kooringal-Wagga Athletics Club and incorporated in 1988.
Bill took great pride in being part of the Jubilee Park facility’s development and offered countless hours of unpaid work to build and complete the complex. As a result of Bill’s commitment to athletics he became a life member with the Kooringal-Wagga Athletics Club.
Becoming a highly qualified and dedicated coach, Bill spent 40 years helping aspiring track and field athletes, as well as mentoring the next generation of Riverina athletics coaches.
About the Venue
The Bill Jacob Athletic Centre is Wagga Wagga's premier athletics venue, housing a turf athletics track that is considered the best regional turf track in NSW. The sports conducted at the centre include running, long jump, triple jump, discuss, shot put, javelin and high jump.
Located within Jubilee Park, other amenities include toilets, playground, change rooms, and a large carpark just outside of the entrance to the center.
