Wagga Wagga City Council successful in receiving funding for Lake Albert Road rehab

Wagga Wagga City Council has been successful in receiving funding from the NSW Government to rehabilitate two 800m sections of Lake Albert Road - between Stanley Street and Fay Avenue and, between Lord Baden Powell Drive and Warrawong Street.

The works involve kerb and gutter repairs, upgrading of the parallel parking bays to concrete where required and renewal of the pavement with asphalt to ensure a high quality road pavement for the road user and a better environmental outcome for adjoining residents.

Council has engaged Fulton Hogan contractors to undertake the pavement rehabilitation works which involves removing the existing pavement by milling it out and replacing it with a new thick layer of asphalt.

The works will be undertaken as night works between 6pm and 6am, weather permitting and in two stages as follows:

Stage 1 16 to 28 Nov Stanley Street to Fay Avenue
Stage 2 29 Nov to 16 Dec Lord Baden Powell Drive to Warrawong Street

During the works Lake Albert Road will be closed to through traffic at the roadworks site between the hours 6pm to 6am. Vehicular access for residents and emergency services within the roadworks will be made available. No work will occur on a Saturday night.

All works will be under traffic control. Residents should expect short delays in being able to get in and out of your property.
