Traineeships and apprenticeships are on-the-job training while you get paid and while you study for a Certificate II, III, IV or VET Diploma qualification.
There are so many reasons and amazing benefits!
- Gain experience and practical skills while you get paid
- Valuable hands-on training in the workplace
- Complete a nationally recognised qualification
- Flexible full-time or part-time work and study options
- Same conditions and benefits as other employees
- No debt! You don’t pay to study – you GET PAID to work and learn!
Traineeships are offered in a broader range of industry-based occupations in a shorter period – typically over one or two years, depending on the position and qualification.
Apprenticeships cover skilled trade-based occupations and take longer to complete – usually three to four years – and upon completion you graduate as a qualified tradesperson.
If you’re in high school (Years 10 -12) you can get a head start on your career while finishing school. You do part-time hours (typically one day per week over two years) getting paid while learning on the job and through a training organisation, while still attending school. Being an SBAT requires approval from your parent/guardian and your school.
