Breathing difficulties can occur suddenly particularly with spring thunderstorms and people who suffer from asthma and hay fever are most at risk. In the Wagga Wagga and wider Riverina area, the incidence of asthma may increase due to elevated level of pollens and other allergens.
How to prepare yourself for asthma
If you sneeze or weeze in Spring, please:
- See your Doctor for an Asthma Action Plan and that you are using the correct medication.
- Use inhaled asthma preventer medication for all the weeks of Spring, and use a reliever (Blue Puffer) to breathe easier.
- If you have difficulty breathing go to a Hospital immediately
In emergencies call 000 for assistance
