12 September 2022 at 8:00am: Road closures - Houlaghans Creek
Roads closed due to flooding:
Due to the rain over the weekend causing Houlaghans Creek to rise, we have had to close the following roads that cross Houlaghans creek at the Creek crossing because of deep water levels:
- River Road
- Cambornes Road
- Prices Road
- Hatwells Road
- Mathew’s Road
- Downside Shepard Siding Road
- Dennis Crossing Road
- Clarendons Road
Roads that remain closed due to flooding:
Due to water receding slowly, and possible flood damage, the following roads remain closed:
- Central Island Road
While road closures are still in place around the area as the flood water recedes, drivers are urged to drive with caution and are reminded not to drive through flooded roads and to obey road closure signs.

Council will continue monitoring the river system and our infrastructure to ensure there is maximum safety and minimum disruption to our services. Council will also continue to work with the SES preparing for any impact due to flooding.
