7 January 2022: River to rise after severe storms

Burrinjuck and Blowering dams are both around 95% full with minimal outflows at present.

There is currently 42,000 meg flowing past Gundagai with a significant amount of rain falling in the tributaries between Gundagai and Burrinjuck Dam.

The Murrumbidgee River in Wagga Wagga will rise over the next couple of days as this water makes its way downstream. The river in Wagga will likely to rise to around 6.4m or higher.

Council reminds people to be mindful of road closures and traffic controls in place across the LGA due to significant storm damage in the region and also a rising river.

And remember, if it's flooded ... forget it!
