GLOBAL ROOTS: 2024 REFUGEE WEEK PLAYLIST
Wagga Wagga can participate at home by downloading the 2-hour Spotify Global Roots: 2024 Refugee Week playlist curated by Bangladeshi-Australian Sydney-based DJ, Munasib Hamid.

"It's a journey of sounds from hype to chill, traditional to modern and everything in between. We have various sounds from across the regions with the highest concentration of Refugees found in Australia and it was such a treat to explore them and discover new sounds myself in the process.

I primarily focus on sounds from across the Arabic speaking diaspora as well as East African artists from Somalia and Sudan for example. I also have some sounds from Burma and Bangladesh in there. I've also paired in some modern manifestations of these sounds that you can find in music from Jaubi that I also have in there. I hope you all enjoy and discover something new!” Curatorial Statement, Munasib Hamid
