Bring in the New Year in Wagga Wagga on Sunday 31 December at Apex Park, Lake Albert!
Roll out the picnic rug from 6.30pm for this family-friendly event. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy an evening of food trucks and fireworks displays at 9.30pm. It's time to celebrate the year 2023.

Is this an all-ages event?
Yes, this is a family friendly event and will be a great event to spend with friends and family to being in the New Year
Where will I be able to see the fireworks?
The fireworks display will be visible from shores of Lake Albert with the main vantage point being around Apex Park.
What time are the fireworks?
The fireworks will commence at 9.30pm and conclude at approximately 9.45pm
Will there be food available to purchase?
There will be a selection of local food vendors available at Apex Park throughout the event where community members can purchase food and drinks. We also encourage attendees to bring along a picnic and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Is this event free to attend?
Yes. It sure is. This is a free community event for Wagga Wagga and our visitors to enjoy.
Will there be road closure?
Yes, to ensure the safety of attendees and road users there will be changes to traffic movement and detours will be in place. Eastlake Drive and Lakeside Drive will be closed on Sunday 31 December 6pm – 10pm. Riverina Traffic Services will be onsite to direct community members
Will there be first aid available?
Yes, St John’s Ambulance will be onsite for the duration of the event. You will the friendly team at Apex Park.
Are pets allowed?
No, as there will be fireworks it is advised to leave pets at home. We encourage locals across the city to keep safety in mind for their beloved pets at home.
What parking arrangements are available?
There is parking available for this event in the Apex Park car park, as well as on-street parking across the neighbouring and adjacent streets to the event site.
Accessible parking will be available in the Apex Park carpark as sign posted and assigned for use by Mobility Parking Scheme permit holders.
Weather conditions will be monitored in the lead up to and during the event. Fireworks may be delayed or cancelled in the event that extreme weather conditions become severe or dangerous. Please keep an eye on Wagga Events or City of Wagga Wagga Facebook pages for updates.
