Johnston Street Park EOI

Wagga Wagga City Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from experienced artists to design and install a permanent creative lighting treatment in Johnston Street Park that celebrates the area and mature palm trees.

The purpose of the lighting installation is to use creative lighting to activate the space and encourage further exploration of the city at night. The park is located in a highly visible location in our CBD. A creative lighting installation in this space will increase safety and create a new point of interest for people passing through the CBD at night.

The assessment panel are looking for creative ideas that will:

  • Draw inspiration from the location – engagement with the local Wiradjuri/Wiradyuri and First Nations community is encouraged
  • Appeal to a broad target audience
  • Be dynamic and provide a unique sense of place
  • Be contemporary, innovative and unique to the location

Three artists will be shortlisted and invited to develop concept designs for this commission.

Applications close midnight AEDT, Monday 8 April 2024
