Alcohol and Drugs

Alcohol and other drugs impact regional and rural communities significantly. There are many initiatives that have been established locally to tackle this complex problem and work towards making our community safer.

The Wagga Wagga Community Drug Action Team [Wagga CDAT] is a community group supported by Council as part of our Community Safety Action Plan 2022-2026 that aims to reduce the harms associated with alcohol and other drugs.

Our Local Liquor Accord is an industry-based group that works to reduce problems related to alcohol in our area.

Liquor Accord members include a wide range of stakeholders from licensed venues, such as hotels, clubs, small bars, bottle shops, cafes, restaurants, caterers, producer wholesaler, Council, Police and more.
