Each year around 1500 dogs and 600 cats pass through the Glenfield Road Animal Shelter.
The City of Wagga Wagga is doing its best to ensure that as many of these animals as possible are relocated with their owners or adopted into new homes.
All dogs and cats arriving at the animal shelter are photographed and added to this page. If an animal has a microchip, its owner has 14 days to collect it before it becomes available for adoption. If the animal is not microchipped, it becomes available for adoption after seven days.
Adopting from the shelter
If you are looking for a family pet, see the below image gallery of the animals that are currently in the shelter. The animal shelter staff can help you find the right pet that fits in with your family and lifestyle.
All of our rehomed pets are vet-checked, microchipped, desexed, wormed and lifetime-registered. Adoption fees are listed on our fees and charges page.
If you would like to know more about the responsibilities of a pet owner you can view information on the Office of Local Government's website.
