Wagga Wagga Community Directory

The Wagga Wagga Community Directory is an online directory of community groups, services and facilities, providing up-to-date information for community organisations who provide services in the Wagga Wagga, area as well as showing upcoming events in the area.

The directory provides residents, visitors and organisations the opportunity to easily find contact information for community-based services in the local area.

Council's Youth Development Officer chairs the Wagga Wagga Youth Interagency Group (WYIG) meetings.
The WYIG brings youth specific service providers and community groups together - allowing them to collaborate and discuss the diverse range of needs and opportunities facing young people today.
The WYIG network communicates and shares information through an email group and meets on a bi-monthly basis on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 9:30am to 10:30am (unless otherwise stated).

The Youth Development Officer actively participates on a number of key agency groups including the Community Drug and Alcohol Team (CDAT), Wagga Domestic Violence Liaison Committee, Triple H Forum, the annual headspace Youth Mental Health Forum and Tolland Working Group.

Wagga Wagga City Council partners with local organisations to subsidize and facilitate Youth Mental health First Aid training in Wagga Wagga.

Next sessions:

Evaluations consistently show that MHFA training improves a participant’s knowledge of mental illnesses, their treatments and appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with mental illness. MHFA courses have also been shown to decrease stigma and increase help seeking behaviours.

Annual Grants Program - Youth Led Initiatives

Each financial year, Council makes funds available under its Annual Grants Program. The program assists recipients to deliver quality programs, events and projects which support the community and enhance wellbeing.

The Youth Projects and Programs category is for young people to develop and lead their own youth focused projects and works to connect young people and promote activity within the community.
